Just joking… I never beg.

But what’s this little article about?

Well, for about a decade and a half I’ve written posts, film reviews, interviewed big and lesser-known film directors, actors and those in the industry (and none more so than the brilliant ones from Korea, Japan, Thailand and elsewhere) and some of these have been in the form of podcasts or even videos.

In addition to those podcasts, videos and articles I’ve also given a speech here and there – sometimes about Korean culture, Asian cinema, filmmaking, my own movies, important issues in Korea and more – & many of these are on more modestly sized YouTube channel.

I’ve also been a judge and jury member on at least one film festival here in Asia and given presentations with amazing little filmmaker & film fanatic groups in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Being a creative though, in whichever capacity is often all for FREE. An artist (or an activist) usually must sacrifice monetary payments in the name of art…

Sure, occasionally a film festival pay pay a night or two of accommodation or perhaps such a creative, artist and/or activist may even have a flight paid for – which is great when that happens – but 90% of the time, this artistic flow, passion for creativity, hosting podcasts & moderating events or even setting up interviews is done without payment.

Therefore… relatively recently, I set up a little page where people like you may contribute a tiny donation for my creative endeavours. Now, whether you do or not, any acts of encouragement, praise etc – even simply a word or two under an article or video (or perhaps the thoughtfulness of sharing one of my creations) – gives me the push I often require to continue creating.
