Heard the MUBI news (see link at foot of article)…?  Seen this film in a cinema…?

[An editor’s disclaimer:  Regular readers of this site may already know that I’ve a big advocate for what Mubi do, and/or have been doing for ages now, but this article is certainly not designed to ‘promote’ them… No, instead it could be said to be promoting MMM’s other projects instead!  I hope you and this posting interesting… J.V. / aka MMM]

Well, Mr MiniMiniMovie recently had the opportunity to review, co-review or perhaps more apt would be to say he simply listened while the film was reviewed… and by a most appropriate individual. That person is Aline Giordano, a French raised Korean adoptee herself and therefore more than perfect for this job of reviewing the film, drawing comparisons and giving her thoughts.

What actually happened was an interview across continents: Mr MMM being in Asia (Thailand at this point) and Aline Giordano in the UK, where she resides and has done for many years.

In addition to this, Mr MMM himself had caught the film several months before at Asia’s biggest film festival, BIFF / Busan International Film Festival and not only was present for a great Q & A with director Davy Chou, actress/artist Park Jimin and others, but also managed to catch a few minutes with Davy and Jimin after the screening.  Photos and snippets can be found below.

It’s probably also worth mentioning – especially as I / MMM unfortunately had to miss its most recent line-up, due to being in Asia – the wonderful London Korean Film Festival, and not least because it also featured “Return To Seoul” in its schedule!  More info at https://www.koreanfilm.co.uk and https://kccuk.org.uk.

So, without further ado or delayed rambling, here is that [two-part] interview – as well as a link to other platforms where MMM’s Not So Korean Podcast can be found!
