🇰🇷 “A B.I.F.F. Bye-Bye + A Busan Beginning” 🎬
The way I approach each @busanfilmfest (ever since my first one way back in 2012) always varies… whether this is due to time constraints or bad planning on my part… or BOTH!
But… how ever the experience is and no matter which films I catch, old & new friends I meet (either planned or unplanned!), parties I may attend & all that I learn about Korean films and international ones, I still love the Busan Cinema Center area, ‘BIFF Hill’ (which, of course, because this is Korea it’s surrounded by real hills or mountains!) and the Centum City area.
Sure, much of it is about shopping and offices in that area – what with ‘the largest department store in the world’ [yes… Shinsegae], Lotte or the lovely @koreanfilmcouncil_kofic / @kobiz_kofic office building – but it also has the Suyeong river (or Suyeong-gang) which also has a lovely park area alongside this Centum City area.
Due to all the above, this part of Busan always evokes memories as well as creating new ones to look back on in the future.
As the closing night takes place right now – and while instead I chill in my home area – I say goodbye to all those involved in the festival… especially the hard-working volunteers.
I still have 2 weeks left in Busan so I’ll revisit other favourite areas, meet a few friends – including one or two who are visiting the city from elsewhere – and explore a little more of this fine city.
Do I miss Thailand though? Ever so much!
